The card above is one I first thought of for the Inspiration Challenge on SCS last Saturday.
The inspiration was to be drawn from the Chines Modern Museum and I chose a painting by Ren Bonian circa mid 1800's (see below)

In the process of procrastination I also discovered that the card would loosely fit the SCS Try a New Technique challenge which was Naked Stamping you can find this challenge here TLC571 and today's Colour Combination challenge also fitted in nicely, you can find that challenge here CC568. This is a card for my eldest daughter who is following her dreams has gone back to university to study archaeology and loves travel.
This is a very quick and easy card.
First I stamped images from the Stampin Up stamp set "Asian Artistry" including the quote from the same set with SU Smokey Slate ink on SU So Saffron card stock, then I dry embossed this with a Sizzix embossing folder that had sun bursts or sun rays (not sure of the name)
I lightly sponged the embossing from right to left in the one direction with gold ink.
I ran some gold cord across the bottom of the card for added interest and then attached the topper to the other layers.
Finally I cut a narrow strip of SU So Saffron and stamped this with one of the stamps used on the front, I joined some X-Press It blending paper to this strip to fit onto a piece of SU Soft Sky card stock that I then attached to the inside of the card creating an area to stamp or write a greeting.
